Anne Ploessl

June 30, 1957 — December 17, 2014

Anne Elizabeth Ploessl (nee Meikle)
Waunakee
Anne Elizabeth Ploessl, beloved wife of Thomas, passed away quietly at home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 30, 1957, in Kokomo, Indiana. Anne and Thomas were together for thirty years.
Anne was a kind, considerate, generous, and caring woman. She deeply loved her immediate and extended family. She coveted and maintained lifelong friendships and was fiercely loyal and dedicated to all.
Anne was a fun loving person, full-of life, with social grace and an empathetic nature that allowed others to be comfortable in her presence. She never knew a stranger, only friends.
Anne worked for the State of Wisconsin for many years. She began her career at Central WI Center as a CNA. She then went to UW Hospital, followed by the Office of the WI Secretary of State, and finished her career at the WI Dept. of Financial Institutions.
Anne lived in a number of communities during her life. After growing up in Rockford and Beloit, and graduating from East High School in Green Bay, she moved to Whitewater to attend college. She then lived in Cambridge, Madison, and finally Waunakee.
Anne was predeceased by her father Douglas Meikle (Whitewater), her mother Elizabeth (Betty) Bennett (Green Bay), and her infant son, Brett Carey in 1983--a sorrow that she carried for the rest of her life. Anne was also predeceased by her mother and father- in- law Clifford and Helen Ploessl (Cassville), and brother-in-law Patrick (Cassville), all of whom she profoundly loved.
Anne is survived by her husband Thomas, her stepmother Mary Meikle (Whitewater), her brother Douglas Meikle, and sisters Catherine and Jennifer (all of Green Bay). She is further survived by in-laws David and Vicki Ploessl, Kenneth and Mary Ploessl, Douglas and Cindy Ploessl, and Chris Ploessl (all of Cassville), Robert Ploessl (Oregon), Ronald Ploessl and Diane Ploessl (Madison), Gregory and Rhonda Ploessl, Daniel Ploessl and Steven Keip (all of Waunakee), and numerous nieces and nephews
The family would like to thank Dr. Rebecca Bull of GHC for her enduring and personal support of Anne over the years. We also thank Dr. Sam Lubner of the UWH Carbone Cancer Center, and Julie and Johanna of Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care.
A private family memorial celebration of Anne's life will be held at a later date. Donations in Anne's name may be directed to the UWH Carbone Cancer Center, Agrace Hospice, or the charity of your choice. Please share a memory at www.CressFuneralService.com .

Rest in peace, dear Anne, for although you had immense joy, you also suffered greatly. Know that you are deeply loved and your presence is sorely missed.
