Anne Marion

Madison: Anne (Hecker) Marion, age 100, died on March 23, 2015, at Hebron Oaks Nursing Home in Madison WI. Anne was born in New York, N.Y. on March 19, 1915, and grew up in Newark, New Jersey. She lived in Sunnyside, Queens, with her husband Frank Marion, where she raised sons Michael and Edward. Later, she lived in Liberty, N.Y., until shortly after Frank's death in 1983, when she moved to Sunrise, Florida. There she met and married Jack Strauss, who died in 1997. Shortly thereafter she moved to Madison. Anne was a gifted artist, poet, playwright, actor, director and musician, who brought a sparkling beauty, love and laughter to the world. She is survived by sons Michael (Georgette) of Mahopac NY, son Edward (Margaret Maroney) of Madison WI, grandchildren Steven, Daniel, Franny, Colleen, and Michelle, brother Raymond Hecker (Paula), and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be on March 29th at 2:00 PM at Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey. A memorial celebration will be held in Madison on a future date.
