Ann Michalski died Friday May 1, 2026 at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Fitchburg, WI.

She was born Ann Bradley Thielke in Wausau, WI on September 8, 1943 to Alma and Eugene Thielke.

Ann studied at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison earning her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature in 1965, as well as a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science in 1967.

Ann worked at Madison Public Library, where she worked as Director of Audio Visual Services at the downtown branch, and Branch Supervisor at Sequoya Library. She also volunteered as the Treasurer for the Friends of Sequoya Branch Library and was involved in countless book clubs. Her love of books and reading is something she’ll always be remembered for.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Lisa Danielson (Mark) and her beloved grandson, Mathias Danielson of Minneapolis, Minnesota who she was so proud of and was looking forward to being closer to when he starts college in WI this Fall; her brother-in-law, James Spanopoulos of Chesteron, Indiana; and nephews, Frank (Sarah) Spanopoulos of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Ed (Amy) Spanopoulos of Chesterton, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Michalski in 2018, her parents, her stepmother, Doris Thielke, and sister-in-law, Donna Spanopoulous.
