Ann Gibson

(Madison WI) - Ann R. (Fauerbach) Gibson, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Agrace HospiceCare. Ann was born on August 30, 1935 to Walter and Margaret (Nielson) Fauerbach in Madison. She grew up in the Vilas neighborhood and graduated from Edgewood H.S. in 1953. She went on to receive a BS in Nursing from St. Louis University and a Masters in Nursing from Boston University. She then taught Nursing at Northwestern University. Later, she became a public health nurse in Milwaukee and Madison. In 1971, Ann was united in marriage to Ralph M. Gibson. Together they raised one son on beautiful Lake Mendota. She is survived by her son, Daniel (Angela), and four stepchildren: John (Eunice), Carl (Joanne), Ann Lindgren (Jerry), and Mary Sue Gill (Richard), and her sisters-in-law Mary and Corinne Fauerbach. Her surviving grandchildren are Guyan and Sophia Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her brothers Phil (Dawn), Walter (Margaret), Ned (Alice), Dave and Richard Fauerbach, and her sister, Mary (John 'Jack') Spohn. Ann's surviving family includes a host of loving relatives. Ann was very proud of her career in Nursing and enjoyed the precious time she was able to help care for her grandchildren when they were young. She loved her time on Lake Mendota while raising Dan and the many friendships made on Middleton Beach Road. Ann was thrilled when Dan returned to live on the lake with his own family. We would like to thank Agrace Hospice and Ingleside Manor for all of their kindness and compassion. Ann will also miss her many friends and neighbors at Rosewood Villas. The family will gather for a private burial ceremony at Forest Hill Cemetery on March 21, 2015. Please join us for a celebration of Ann's life at a visitation on Saturday, March 21st from 1-3pm and ceremony to follow at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.
