Angeline Bauer

Angeline (Angie) Statz Bauer, 92 passed away peacefully on January 21, 2013. Angie was born in Waunakee, Wisconsin on July 5, 1920, the daughter of Louis and Catherine (Acker) Statz. She was the third oldest of nine children. Angie married the love of her life, George Bauer, on May 15, 1943. They made their home in Madison. Angie was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she was active in the Ladies Guild. Angie enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, playing cards and refinishing furniture. She was known for her boundless energy and generous hospitality. Angie was an excellent cook and especially enjoyed baking. But her greatest joy was sharing it with others. Survivors include her four children; Georgia (Bill) Gehrmann of Lake Geneva, Kathy (Steve) Brincefield of Richmond, VA; Lorna Wolff of Woodstock, IL and Keith (Jodi) Bauer of Crested Butte, CO, eight grandchildren; Kerri (Eric) Johnson, Jason (Candy) Gehrmann, Matt and Stephanie Brincefield, Sara (Eric) Rossi, Noel (Melissa), Lindy and Nate Bauer; sisters, Cathy (Don) Kreul and Laura Blakeslee; great-grandchildren Ashley and Alex Gehrmann, Peyton and Morgan Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Angie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, her parents, four sisters; Marie, Gertrude, Sister Romana and Agnes, two brothers, Eugene and James. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Avenue on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00 a. m. Visitation will be preceding the Mass beginning at 9:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Angie Statz Bauer Scholarship Fund.
