Angela Voelcker

December 21, 1967 — September 2, 2015

Lover of nature and animals
It is with great sadness that we share the recent passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, Angela Voelcker. She was born in Danville, Pennsylvania on December 21, 1967, the first born of Richard and Jane (Motto) Voelcker.
As a child she was drawn to nature, the trees, flowers, and animals. She had her first kitten before she was 2 and continued to have cats all her life. She enjoyed dancing and took lessons for many years. She became an avid runner, joining the cross country team at Danville High School where she graduated with honors in 1985.
Angie attended Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA and graduated in 1989 with a B.A. in religion. While in college she studied ornithology and enjoyed bird watching all her life. She continued her education, earning an Associate Degree in nursing from North Hampton Community College and becoming a registered nurse. In 1997 she received her Master's degree in women's health at University of Wisconsin in Madison and became a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. She practiced her profession in the Madison area for some time, including working for the Ho-Chunk Nation, a Native American Indian community north of Madison. She later relocated to Friedensburg, PA where she lived for nearly 10 years and worked in a women's health clinic until her own health declined. Angie returned to Madison in 2013 where she was living most recently. For years she battled chronic Lyme disease and succumbed to the complications thereof.
She is survived by her mother and father, Jane (Motto) and Richard Voelcker, her sister, Laurinda Voelcker, her brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Raven Voelcker, and her nephew, Flint Voelcker, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved cat Timmy as well as grandparents John and Margaret Motto and Henry and Hilde Voelcker and her uncle, Hunce Voelcker.
Angie was a member of the First Unitarian Society of Madison and participated in their Dance Explorations, Gardening, and Health Issues Support Groups. She is under the care of the Cress Funeral and Cremation Service of Madison, www.cressfuneralservice.com . Angie's family welcomes her friends to attend her interment service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday September 23, 2015 at the Circle Cemetery in Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve, 5354 Meadowvale Road, Barneveld, WI 53507. Due to the remote location of the cemetery within the nature preserve, anyone who wishes to attend the service is asked to advise the family or Circle Cemetery staff of their intentions at 608-924-2216 or email to: circle@circlesanctuary.org.
Anyone who wishes to make a memorial contribution in her name may do so to the Animal Resource Center, 301-A Boone Rd, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, www.nokillarc.org , or any animal organization that provides love and care to stray animals.
