Alyce Forster

MADISON / EVANSVILLE -Alyce M. Forster passed away on August 2, 2016 at Sienna Meadows in Oregon, Wisconsin. Alyce was born on Feb. 2nd, 1922. She was the older sibling of Jerry and Byrad Ripp. Her brother was Donald Ripp. Alyce was married in 1941 to Frank Forster, Captain of Records for the Madison Police Department. He passed away at the age of 93. They raised two daughters, Elizabeth of Evansville, Wisconsin and Mary Lynn of Madison, Wisconsin.
While working for CUNA beginning in 1957, Alyce pursued a public relations degree in Journalism from UW Madison, began work as a Writer of Publications for CUNA Mutual. She edited The Advisor since its inception. After leaving CUNA twenty years later, Alyce opened Bittersweet House in Madison, a unique store that featured gourmet cookery, kitchen accessories, antiques, and pottery. Bittersweet House was run by Alyce for seven successful years until it was sold.
Alyce enjoyed going out to eat, church functions, concerts, arts, and listening to music. She loved to read a great variety of books.
Alyce is survived by her daughters Elizabeth (Richard) Ketterer and Mary Lynn, her granddaughter Amy (Clint) LeGrange, great grandchildren Taylor and Carson, and seven nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alyce will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 39 Garfield Ave. Evansville, with Fr. Kevin Dooley presiding. Alyce will be interred following the service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Madison. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the church on Tuesday.
