Alvin Richards

DANE - Alvin J. Richards, 88, of Dane, passed away peacefully in the early morning on Sat. March 19, 2016. Alvin was born May 18, 1927 to William F. and Catherine (Heimbecker) Richards.
Alvin was proud to serve in the U.S. Army in WWII and the Korean War. He worked at the Waunakee Canning Factory for many years and also for the State of Wisconsin, from which he retired. Alvin was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed time spent at his property in Central Wisconsin.
Alvin is survived by his sister Catherine (Eugene) Smith, brother-in-law John Stevenson and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother George (Patricia) Richards, his 3 sisters Dorothy Stevenson, Shirley Madigan, Irene (LaVern) Johnson, and also by his lifelong friend Edgar Thompson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tue. March 22, 2016 at WINN- CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service on Tue. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dane Immanuel UCC cemetery in Dane.
The family would like to thank the Agrace team for the compassion and kindness shown to Alvin over the last few months.
We will miss you, Uncle. You brought so much joy to our lives.
