Alta Latschar

Madison - Alta Mae Latschar, 90, of Madison, Wisconsin died April 14, 2014. She was born May 27, 1923 in Green, Kansas. She met and married Dr. Milton E. Latschar in Manhattan, Kansas. They were married for 28 years until his death in 1969. Alta lived the majority of her life in Cartersville, Georgia. They had 3 children, Mary Ellen, Fred, and Eloise.

Alta Mae was a talented seamstress and crafter who created amazing quilts, blankets, tablecloths and dolls clothes from yarn. Always laughing and enjoying the people around her, she managed to light up any room she entered. She dedicated her life to her children, their children, and her husband. Among her various pastimes she enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing the harmonica.

Alta Mae is survived by her daughter, Eloise Barron, Eloise's husband Tim, and daughter in law, Theresa Latschar, along with 3 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Rock Spring Elementary School 1550 Stroud Rd. McDonough Ga 30252 Attn. Fredric L Latschar or charity of choice.

A private memorial service for friends and family will be held in Madison, WI from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, May 10th.
