Alice (Vale) Lenihan, age 68, of Madison passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 16, 1948 in Madison, WI, the daughter to Leslie and Alma (Haarklau) Vale.
Alice graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1966. After graduating she worked for the State of Wisconsin and retired from American Family Insurance. Alice was an avid reader and card player. She enjoyed trips to the casino and coffee and conversation with her friends at Dairyland. Alice was proud to be Norwegian and celebrated her heritage by traveling to Norway, enjoying Lutefisk and Lefse dinners and making Krumkakes and Lefse.
Alice is survived by her son Steven (Arielle) Lenihan; granddaughter Addison; father Leslie Vale; sisters Jean (Charles Ballard) Boyle and Carol Walton; longtime partner Ken Koch; nieces Brandy Schroeder and Valerie Walton; nephew Tyler Walton and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves behind her dear friends Judy and Lee and her former husband Stephen Lenihan. Alice was preceded in death by her mother and brother Russell.
A funeral service for Alice will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
