Albert Schasel

Madison: Albert L. Schasel, age 83, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison on Thursday, May 8, 2014. He was born August 21, 1930 in Buffalo, NY the son of Christian and Agnes (Switzer) Schasel. Albert served his country and fellow man in the United States Navy. On July 6, 1959 he married Deanna M. Hall in Chicago, IL. Deanna and Albert shared 47 years together, preceding Albert in death in 2006. In 1962 Albert and Deanna moved to Madison, where he worked for the Wisconsin DOT until his retirement in 1992. Albert loved gardening, fishing, and was a skilled craftsman. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Albert is survived by his sons; Brian (Beth) Schasel, of Burlington, Iowa, Mark Schasel of Madison, grandson Adam Schasel, Burlington Iowa, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the CRESS CENTER, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705 with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in Albert's name be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, or the Dane County Humane Society.
