Adeline Barosko

May 11, 1927 — April 8, 2017

MADISON-Adeline Margherita Barosko, 89, of Madison, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, after a long illness, battling Alzheimer's disease. Loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother, she endured the pain of the "the long goodbye" gracefully and is now in the peaceful kingdom of heaven. Daughter of local restaurateurs Lorenzo and Margherita (Compestre) Farino, Adeline was born into a large and close-knit Italian family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 11, 1927.

The family later moved to Madison and opened Lorenzo's, an Italian restaurant on the UW campus where all of the Farino children worked. She married Dr. Samuel Barosko, Junior on August 25, 1955, at St. James Catholic Church in Madison, Wisconsin.

Adeline loved her many nieces and nephews in her large, extended family and was thrilled to welcome a child of her own in 1967. Motherhood and ultimately grandmother-hood would be her greatest joy and accomplishment in life. She was the prototypical Italian Mother and Grandmother, loving life, laughing with and spoiling her grandchildren, cooking for her family and enjoying all elements of family life. Her absence from our daily lives will be a difficult burden only lightened by the faith of her deliverance to a better place.

Adeline is survived by her husband Sam Barosko, daughter Elizabeth (Barosko) Kluesner, son in-law David Kluesner, grandchildren Katherine and Teddy Kluesner and sister Evelyn (Clarence) Olson, sister in-law Ruth (Emil) Kulich, sister in-law Patricia (Lawrence) Farino, brother in-law Joseph (Eva) Busalacchi and many much- loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Margherita Farino, brothers Mark Anthony (Evelyn) Farino, Richard (Ann) Farino, and Lawrence Farino, sisters Florence (Peter) Macaluso, Mary (Thomas) Daley, Eva Busalacchi, Dorothy (Philip) Clementi, and godson Lawrence Farino.

A gathering will be held on from 4:30-6:00 PM on Friday, April 21st at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Avenue, Madison, WI with a memorial service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made to: Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund, 2219 Monroe Street, Madison, WI 53711.
