MADISON- Ada M. Mitchell of Madison, WI passed away November 8, 2016. Born in Madison on June 4, 1917, Ada was the daughter of Max and Clara Levin. She is survived by her grandchildren Karin Twilde-Sheifer (Stuart), William Twilde, and Holly Bicudo (Hugo). She was also the proud and loving great-grandmother to Madeleine Sheifer, Daniel Sheifer and Holly Bicudo. She was preceded in death by her husband William P. Mitchell, and their daughters Patricia Twilde and Holly Kelly.
After earning a degree in history from the University of Wisconsin, Ada then married her husband Bill in 1940. They lived on both coasts, first in Syracuse, NY and later in Oakland, CA, raising their two daughters. In the mid-1950s, Ada and her family returned to Madison to stay. Her greatest pride was her family and she shared her warmth and wisdom to all who knew her.
A private funeral was held at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jewish Social Services of Madison at jssmadison.org, 6434 Enterprise Lane, Madison, WI 53719 or to the Attic Angel Resident Aid Fund, 640 Junction Road, Madison, WI 53717.
