Burial Service Options

Funeral Service

  • This is the most common choice
  • Visitation and/or viewing when family and friends gather
  • Funeral ceremony with your loved one present
  • Location choices: Funeral home, church or another location of your choosing
  • Brief committal service and disposition of your loved one (earth burial, entombment or cremation) follows the ceremony

Graveside Service

  • Ceremony takes place at the site of the burial of the casket or cremation urn.
  • It is the only service held

Memorial Service

This is a formal or informal ceremony for family/friends without your loved one present. This may take place anywhere, anytime and/or in conjunction with any other service options. For example, you may consider a graveside service followed by a memorial service.

Cost Factors

Many variables impact the costs associated with the passing of a loved one. Some are directly related to the funeral home while other costs are determined by outside sources. To obtain an accurate overall cost, we suggest contacting Cress Funeral Service and setting up an appointment with one of our funeral directors. Our funeral director will be able to provide you with a general price list and answer any questions you may have.

During the funeral planning process, you will most likely consider the following services and products:

  • Professional services of the Cress funeral director and staff
  • Embalming – Typically, embalming is not required by law. However, certain types of services (e.g., open casket visitation), health concerns or time factors may necessitate embalming.
