They farmed together with their 6 sons, until he retired in 2002.
In addition to his wife Violet, survivors include his children, Steven (Janice) Carlson; Raymond (Brenda) Carlson all of Stratford; Sandra (Doug) Nelson of Union; Sharon (Tony) Bergman of Stratford; Larry (Kris) Carlson of Vincent; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Arnie (Donna) Carlson of Stratford; sister-in-law, Donita Carlson of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Just want to send my sympathy and prayers to the family. I have fond memories of growing up with Dale and Violet's kids in school and church.
I happend upon this notice and my heart goes out to the family of Dale Carlson. Though I do not know the family I wanted to convey my sympathy and share the hope from the bible that I look to at times such as these. Our heavenly Father Jehovah is a God of love and HE hates to see us in pain. This thought is supported at Revelation 21:3,4 where it promises that HE will wipe away death and pain forever. What a time of celebration when we will be crying tears of joy instead of sorrow. I again am sorry for your loss. With sympathy,
We Square Danced MANY Years with the Carlsons. I have lots of FUN Memories with them.
Leo & Verla Morgan extend our sympathy to the Carlson Family.

My fondest memories as a young child include the gentle kind Carlson family. I am grateful to have known Dale. Much peace to his family.
Brenda, Raymond and family, Sorry for your loss, you are in our thoughts.
I will always remember camping with Grandpa and Grandma when I was little. Grandpa was on the fair board so we would stay in Webster City for the week of the fair! I remember watching Grandpa and Grandma Square Dancing on some of the camping trips. I love thinking about how he looked when he'd go Square Dancing. He was always handsome and happy looking.
