Lucille M. Kleinheinz, age 90, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at St. Mary's Care Center. She was born on March 25, 1919 in Madison, the daughter of Raymond and Emma Esser. In 1936, Lucille graduated from West High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She attended the University of Wisconsin where she was a member of Sigma Epsilon Sigma Honor Society and Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was a secretary at Wisconsin Life Insurance Company for several years. On May 2, 1942 Lucille married William J. Kleinheinz. Lucille was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Carefree Years Club, Madison Elks Club, Madison Catholic Woman's Club, and the Alpha Omicron Pi Madison Area Alumnae. Lucille enjoyed traveling, and she and her husband traveled extensively. She was an avid Badger and Packer fan. She enjoyed playing bridge, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Lucille is survived by two sons, Robert Kleinheinz of Monona and Larry Kleinheinz of Madison; four grandchildren, Matthew (Elise) Meagan, Andrew (Lara) and Peter Kleinheinz; two great grandchildren, Peyton and Brady Kleinheinz; a sister-in-law, Virginia Esser of Wauwatosa; three nephews, Peter (Judy) Esser, Clark (Julie) Kleinheinz, and John (Jane) Kleinheinz; a niece, Susan (Eric) Dunn; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Margaret Kleinheinz; and many cousins and friends. Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Donald Esser. Special thanks to Dr. Thomas Ansfield who took such wonderful care of our mother, as well as the staff at St. Mary's Care Center. A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison, with Fr. David J. Greenfield officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Madison, WI 53711.
