Kalhagen, Mary Ann

(September 14th, 1934 - June 30th, 2009)

Mary Ann Kalhagen, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg.   She was born in Sun Prairie on September 14, 1934, a daughter of John and Lillian (Buckley) Anderson.   Mary graduated from Madison East High School in 1952.   She was united in marriage to Arnold Arnie' Kalhagen in 1956 at Burke Lutheran Church in Madison.   Mary loved roses, hugs, square dancing, playing cards, playing the slots at Ho-Chunk, and coffee time.   She loved kids, and babysat for 25 years, then served lunch at McFarland Elementary School for another 20 years.   She is survived by her children, Mike Kalhagen of McFarland, Patty (Jon) Landen of McFarland, Jerry Kalhagen of Sun Prairie, and Jeanne (Paul Keller of Mt. Horeb; grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Kennedy of Stoughton, Eric Landen of Fall River, and Allison Keller of Mt. Horeb; a sister, Donna (Bob) Kleven; a special niece, Katie Gritzmaker; and many other nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnie; and seven brothers and sisters, Pearl, Helen, Harold, Reuben, Gladys, Betty and Johnny.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in McFarland, with the Rev.
