Bartel, LaVerne P.

(November 13th, 1929 - June 9th, 2009)

MADISON- LaVerne P. Bartel, age 79, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was a resident of Oakwood Village West for over two years. LaVerne was born November 13, 1929, in Reedsville, WI, to parents Herman and Leona (Fischer) Priebe.

She is survived by her cousins: Eldred (Leola) Priebe, LeRoy (Betty) Priebe, Willis (Connie) Priebe, Doris (Henry) Behnke, Donald (dec.) and his wife Joanne Bubolz, Val Jean (Peter) Link, Raymond (Suzanne) Bubolz; three step sons: Bruce (Kathy) Bartel, Timothy (Janet) Bartel and Jon (Jeanne) Bartel; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Roland Olson, and her second husband, Bernard "Ben" Bartel.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at OAKWOOD VILLAGE WEST, RESURRECTION CHAPEL, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Reedsville, WI.
